Irving ISD will host a school choice expo on Saturday, November 9, to give parents the opportunity to explore the various options in Irving ISD.  All 36 campuses will be in attendance to provide information to parents about their academic and extra-curricular offerings. Parents can learn about the district’s PreK program, dual-language schools and specialty programs like aviation, civil engineering, veterinary sciences, business and entrepreneurship and more! The free event will be held at Singley Academy, 4601 N. MacArthur, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Two new exciting offerings include the launch of Singley Collegiate Academy and the expansion to free full-day PreK for 4-year-olds and free half-day PreK for 3-year-olds, for those who qualify.

Singley Collegiate Academy will open in August 2020 and will be a “school within a school” housed at Singley Academy. Students will have the opportunity to earn up to 60 hours of college credit or an associate’s degree, tuition-free. The academy will open with 125 freshman and will add a grade level each year until it is at full capacity in 2024. Freshman and sophomores will attend classes at Singley Academy and juniors and seniors may attend the North Lake College campus. Students will be required to submit an application and attend an in-person interview. The application window will open in November.

Also beginning August 2020, Irving ISD will offer free, full-day PreK for qualifying 4-year-olds at most elementary campuses across the district.  Another new-to-the-district offering will be free, half-day PreK for qualifying 3-year-olds. Tuition-based PreK for 4-year-olds will also continue. Registration will begin in the spring.
