Students at Singley Academy observed a Live Fire Training at the Irving & Grand Prairie Joint Training Facility. They had the opportunity to watch from a birdseye view throughout the training.
Following the completion of the training, students had the opportunity to assist in clean-up and debrief with the firefighters who took part in the routine training.
Select students in the Singley Academy Fire Technician program will attempt a similar training at the end of the school year in order to obtain their Basic Structure Fire Protection Certification. Students were able to see first hand what it takes to be a firefighter in Irving as well as gain a better understanding of what they will need to accomplish for the certification process.
