Nine Irving ISD scholar-athletes were named to the 7-6A All-District Football Team. Voted by the coaches of each district, the All-District Team honors the top scholar-athletes for their performances on the field this season.
District 7-6A includes Irving ISD’s Irving, MacArthur and Nimitz high schools as well as Dallas Jesuit and Richardson ISD’s Berkner, Lake Highlands, Pearce and Richardson high schools.
From Nimitz High School, Pedro Maldonado was named the District 7-6A Sophomore of the Year. Several senior teammates were named to the team as well. Eric Williams was named running back, Michael James was named offensive lineman, J’Den Hall was named linebacker and senior Abdiel Barerra was named defensive back.
Senior Bryler Nitcholas of MacArthur was named Special Teams Player of the Year and the team’s wide receiver. Teammate Julian Garza, a junior, was named a team linebacker.
Sophomore Victor Cantarero of Irving High School was named a defensive lineman and teammate Austin Williams, a senior, was named a linebacker.
