Irving ISD kicked off Irving Goes To College (College Week) in mid-September, encouraging staff members, like Director of Athletics Clint Roddy, to share their college journey.
Coach Roddy, who obtained both academic and athletic scholarships, began his college career at Navarro College in Corsicana. After earning his associate’s degree, he transferred to Texas Tech University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration in management.
“Sports were a major motivator for me,” he says. “I knew that I wanted to continuing playing athletics at a higher level, and I was fortunate enough to be given that opportunity.”
