The Nimitz High School NJROTC Robotics Team, 77711P, recently competed in the prestigious VEX Robotics JROTC National Championship, held in Dallas. This annual competition brings together the top VEX V5 JROTC teams from across the country to celebrate innovation, teamwork and technical excellence. Teams also showcase their talents by competing in various high-stakes competitions.
The four-member team, led by Computer Science teacher Phillip Hunt and Engineering teacher Christopher Moore, competed in both the Skills Solo Contest and the main tournament. They delivered impressive performances in both categories – placing 22nd out of 192 teams in the Skills Solo Contest and advancing to the semifinals of the tournament with a record of 7-2-1, securing a spot among the Top 16 JROTC teams in the nation.
