Students across Irving ISD are coming together this season to create almost 500 bright, friendly ornaments and artwork for children receiving care at Children’s Health. The project brings together campuses from elementary through high school to spread joy during the holidays while helping students build awareness and empathy for others. What started five years ago with an art teacher at Nimitz has grown into a districtwide effort supported by several schools.
Through colorful characters, hand-painted designs and art, students hope to bring comfort to kids facing tough moments. Many shared that the act of creating for someone else shaped how they view kindness, and one student called the project a full-circle moment after spending months in the same hospital while battling cancer. The video highlights their voices and the heart behind every piece of art.
