Irving ISD will host its first State of the District event this May, and Superintendent Magda Hernandez could not be more proud. “Our story is one worthy of being told, and data shows that our students and schools continue to achieve excellence – even in the midst of the pandemic,” she says.
The inaugural event will be held virtually on Thursday, May 13, at 9 AM and will showcase the accomplishments of the district, as well as share challenges and opportunities that have risen. The theme for this year’s event is “The Power of Game Changers.” The event will be livestreamed for free to the public, and virtual attendees will get an inside look at how the district is changing the game with its early childhood programs and access to college and careers.
Irving ISD is seeking sponsors to help offset the cost of the inaugural event. Sponsorship opportunities include a gold, silver and bronze level at $5,000, $2,500 and $1,250 respectively. Each level includes various benefits and amenities. Interested businesses and individuals wishing to sponsor the event may contact Dr. Nicole Mansell, Chief of Communications, at amansell@irvingisd.net.
“We are excited to share with our stakeholders the accomplishments of all of our game changers, as well as share an inside look at future district plans,” says Board President Randy Randle. “While the pandemic has been a gamechanger in education and has changed the landscape of education as we know it, Irving ISD students and staff have risen to the challenge.”
“We hope our community will join us virtually on Thursday, May 13, as we livestream the event to our business and community leaders,” says Hernandez. “Irving ISD is made up of game changers, and we cannot wait to tell our story!”
