Irving ISD has provided me with a plethora of resources as well as opportunities that I otherwise would not have access to. At every stage in my academic journey, there has always been someone there to guide me, whether it be a counselor, administrator, teacher or college advisor. The district does an incredible job of supporting all of its students and ensuring equal access to educational resources for everyone.
Through its Signature Studies program, Irving ISD gives students the opportunity to discover their passions by exploring various career fields. I’m currently enrolled in the medical pathway at Singley Academy, where I’ve gained a vast amount of medical experience that has cemented my desire to pursue a future career in healthcare. Furthermore, this year I am enrolled in a dual-credit EMT program, which will allow me to become a certified Emergency Medical Technician by the time I graduate high school.
Next year, I will be attending Brown University on a full ride thanks to the QuestBridge National College Match Program. Although it will be an adjustment, I believe the district’s thorough and well-organized course sequences have significantly prepared me for the challenging academic atmosphere of a high-caliber university. The Gifted and Talented program specifically, which identifies gifted students and allows them to take higher-level classes, has allowed me to gain a vast amount of knowledge tailored to my academic needs.
Within this district there is a place for everyone. Irving ISD fosters a collaborative and supportive environment of students, teachers, administrators and mentors, and their dedication to student’s success is unparalleled.
