Irving ISD is excited to welcome back all students to attend classes on campus for the 2021-2022 school year. The district looks forward to refocusing its efforts on providing an excellent educational experience for all students in-person.
“The past year has posed many challenges for our nation, community and school district,” says Irving ISD Superintendent of Schools Magda Hernandez. “Despite unprecedented circumstances, Irving ISD had a great school year. This is a direct result of the cooperation, support and collaborative efforts of our parents, students, staff and community. Slowly but surely, we are beginning to return to ‘normal’ in Irving ISD.”
For the 2021-2022 school year, the district will not offer at-home, virtual learning. The district is encouraged by the improved conditions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and relatively low COVID-19 case counts, which validate the district’s ability to provide a safe educational environment as a result of safety protocols.
Conversely, state and local achievement data prove that remote learning does not yield the same quality learning experiences for students as in-person. In addition, the district is holding vaccination clinics, prioritizing availability to educators and students 12 years of age and up.
Over the summer, the district will review current health and safety protocols. Revisions to the current plan will be released this summer and posted on the district website. Irving ISD will continue to monitor health trends and will adjust accordingly should the need arise.
“Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we strive to provide the best education for all students,” says Hernandez.
Thank you! Very interesting.
