On behalf of the Irving ISD Board of Trustees, staff and students, thank you for your support in passing the 2023 bond propositions A, B and C.
- Proposition A: Passed
- Proposition B: Passed
- Proposition C: Passed
- Proposition D: Failed
- Proposition E: Failed
With the help of our voters which includes staff, students, families and Irving residents, the entire Irving ISD community will receive a bond package that will elevate our students to the next level. This bond will help Irving ISD continue the academic work of focusing on successful student outcomes and to prepare Irving ISD students for the brightest of futures.
“We would like to thank our Long-Term Facilities and Bond Planning Committees for their tireless efforts for the students of Irving ISD,” says Irving ISD Superintendent Magda Hernandez. “To our voters – thank you for saying yes to our kids and teachers. Our students and staff deserve the best, and they will get that with the passing of these bond propositions.”
Proposition A addresses projects at each of our campuses and allows us to build three new schools to replace Barton Elementary School, Farine Elementary School and Crockett Middle School. It further addresses renovations at all 32 campuses, two Baby Universities (Tuition-Based Employee Childcare Centers), a CTE Center (Career and Technical Education), Fine Arts Transportation and equipment needs, and safety and security upgrades to the entire district.
Proposition B addresses technology upgrades by providing students and staff with computers, upgrading network infrastructure, high-speed wi-fi access and the implementation of more protective cybersecurity systems.
Proposition C replaces our Student Transportation and Logistics Center.
Proposition D (three new multi-purpose indoor facilities for football, soccer, baseball, softball, track and field, marching band, STEM and JROTC) and Proposition E (a new Performing Arts Center that would serve the entire district) were not approved by voters.
Design work on the bond projects will begin immediately and commence over the next several years. Once the projects break ground, the district will be sharing monthly construction updates and will be keeping the public informed of project statuses and completion timelines on the bond website, IrvingISDBond.com.
Please note, election results are unofficial until they are canvassed at a board meeting on Monday, May 15.
