Irving ISD is proud to announce the top graduates from each of our high schools. Learn who each school’s valedictorian and salutatorian are, their future plans and an interesting fact about each one below.
Irving High School
Miriam Isabel Hernandez – Valedictorian
College: Texas Christian University
Major: Business
Fun Fact: I flew on a plane for the first time during my senior year, and I cannot wait to do it again and explore more of the world around me.

College: United States Marine Corps.
Major: Aviation Mechanic

MacArthur High School
Sasha Lilyanna Gaviola Sumabon – Valedictorian
College: Southern Methodist University
Major: Computer Science
Fun fact: I love origami.
Grace Michelle Marquez – Salutatorian
College: Duke University
Major: Biomedical Engineering
Fun fact: I am sandwiched right in the middle of my family. I have 3 older siblings (an older brother and two older sisters) and 3 younger siblings (two younger brothers and a younger sister). I believe that this placement has directly correlated with who I have become. My older siblings passed down their knowledge just as they did their hand-me-downs, and I can help my younger siblings the same way and teach them everything I know. I owe my success directly to my family.
Nimitz High School
Valentina Romero – Valedictorian
