Irving ISD students were equipped for the start of the school year, thanks to the Irving School Foundation’s (ISF) Supplies for Success. The back-to-school event included immunizations, dental checks, vision checks, a resource fair for families and – of course – backpacks filled with school supplies for students.

“Five kids with school supplies – it adds up pretty quick,” says parent Monica Barron. “This helps a lot.”

This year, more than 17,000 students were invited to participate,

“This year we decided as a committee, which includes the city of Irving and other organizations in town, that we didn’t want to turn any kid down,” says Crystal Scanio, ISF president/CEO. “We had amazing volunteers all week long. We also had a lot of companies and organizations collect backpacks and school supplies for us. A lot of school district administrators, employees and teachers have come out to help. I think it’s an incredible event because it takes a village, and our village is Irving.”
