After a strong showing at district competition earlier this week, Irving ISD will be represented by 12 scholar-athletes and three alternates at the regional wrestling tournament this Friday and Saturday at Birdville Stadium.

Nimitz High School boys, with six regional qualifiers and an alternate, finished fourth as a team at the district meet. Two Nimitz girls are alternates. Irving High School had five qualifiers while one MacArthur wrestler also advanced.

  • Azel Canelo – 2nd place, 170-lb class
  • Nathan Arriaga – 3rd place, 113-lb class
  • J’Den Hall – 3rd place, 182-lb class
  • Jacob Pricer – 3rd place, 160-lb class
  • Miguel Rodriguez – 3rd place, 132-lb class
  • Jeremy Reyes – 4th place, 152-lb class
  • Nestor Urrecha – 5th place (alternate), 126-lb class
  • Jenny Mireles – 5th place (alternate), 138-lb class
  • Naima Rodriguez – 5th place (alternate), 119-lb class
