Last evening, the Irving ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve the employee compensation package recommended by district administration. In accordance with the recently passed House Bill 3, a large portion of these raises will be for teachers, counselors, librarians and nurses. In addition, the board acknowledged the hard work of our support staff by approving significant raises for both paraprofessionals and staff.
The approved compensation plan includes:
- Starting teacher pay increases from $52,700 to a competitive $54,700.
- Counselors will also be placed in their own compensation structure and will be removed from the former Administrative/Professional Pay Band.
- Non-administrators includes Facilities, Technology Pay Scales Grade 01-05, Paraprofessionals and Professional Pay Scales Grade 01 – 03A and Grade 04A, and the salary increase is from the 2018-2019 midpoint.
- Administrators includes Technology Pay Scales Grade 06-07 and Professional Pay Scales Grade 03B and Grade 04B – 11, and the salary increase is from the 2018-2019 midpoint.

“In Irving ISD we are committed to ensuring our students excel and reach their maximum potential,” stated Superintendent Magda Hernandez. “To do this, we must attract and retain the best talent, which includes compensating all of our employees well. Our greatest asset is our teachers and staff, and I want to extend my appreciation to our Board of Trustees for supporting this compensation package.”
