Irving ISD recognized parent volunteer hours and campus parent centers at the Seal of Excellence and Volunteer of the Year Awards Ceremony, held December 5 at Singley Academy. Veronica Olguin of Barton Elementary School was recognized as the District Volunteer of the Year with 1,231 volunteer hours.

In addition, campuses recognized volunteers with the most volunteer hours for the 2018-2019 school year. Nineteen Parent Centers were recognized for their outstanding achievements in parent education and volunteerism with the Seal of Excellence Award. Diamond Awards went to Singley Academy, J. Haley Elementary, Townley Elementary, Brown Elementary, Davis Elementary and Keyes Elementary school. Gold Seal winners were awarded to Britain Elementary, Bowie Middle, Brandenburg Elementary, Gilbert Elementary  and Lamar Middle School. Silver Awards went to de Zavala Middle School, Townsell Elementary, Farine Elementary, T. Haley Elementary, Lively Elementary, Hanes Elementary, Good Elementary and Johnston Elementary. Brown Elementary School was named Parent Center of the Year.
